My LaserJet IIP Plus, which I use with a Jet Page PostScript Cartridge, is not printing. It prints nothing at all! The printer displays a "ERROR 34 Flushing", which I cant find on the manual. Problems started when I changed my computer for a new one and, at the same time, decided to send the printer to change the rollers and do some cleaning. Before that it printed everything perfectly. Now: When the printer is with the cartridge, it prints the PRINTER Font Test and Self Test correctly. But when I send, for instance, a Word page, then comes the ERROR: 34. It prints nothing whatsoever. When I use the printer without the cartridge, it prints the PRINTER Self Test correctly. When a send a text from a software, it prints with slight errors (some letters are not perfectly aligned). Anyway, I want to use the printer with the cartidge. I've already tried different printer drivers, cables and so on unsuccessfully. I've been doing a lot of research for some time. I've tried HP, IBM, Apple, Google, etc. So, while I was doing those researchs I found this: "Adobe, Nothing Prints or Error: 'Flushing' When Printing to IBM 4079 PostScript Printer. Issue When you print to an IBM Lexmark 4079 ... pagemakersupport.adobe.com/adobeknowbase/ root/public/pm2476.htm?DREID=6727" Seems exactly like my problem. Problem is the page is not available. That's how I came to the Adobe site. I went first to the Pagemaker Forum and now here I am Does anyone know what kind of error is this and what should I do to get my printer printing again? Thank you all very much

Ana, The LaserJet IIP is an approximately 12 year old 300 dpi laser printer with very limited memory and processor. The Jet Page PostScript Cartridge is not Adobe PostScript, but rather, a third party emulation of PostScript Level 1, also from the same time frame. I don't know what an ERROR 34 is but flushing simply means that the printer has cancelled the job. You don't say what version of Windows you are running on or what driver you are using, thus the configuration or driver of your new computer OR the printer itself may be the problem. And in the printer, it could any number of problems including defective or not enough memory. Since the manufacturer of Jet Page has long since vanished to the industry dust bin, I don't think that there is any possibility for Tech Support for that product. Anyway, exactly what version of Windows are you running on and what driver are you using and how did you configure such a driver? - Dov

Dov, I was running Windows 95 then moved to Windows 98 with the new computer. Ive tried the driver I used with Windows 95: IBM Personal PagePrinter. When it did not work, Ive tried the others also recommended on the manual of the cartridge: Apple LaserWriter IINT, Apple LaserWriter IINTX and PostScript Printer (generic). And some others, randomly... The configuration is the standard, as installed by Windows. I change just the memory, which is 4,5 M. Thank you for your reply Ana

Sorry, then. Not much we can do to help from here for such an old non-Adobe product being used with a non-Adobe driver. (Adobe's PostScript driver only support PostScript Level 2 and PostScript 3 printers, which alas, yours is not one of!) - Dov
