I have installed Windows XP, and I cannot install a LaserMaster Winprinter 1000. The PPD file for this printer is level 1.

The AdobePS printer driver for XP need a PPD level 2. I have tried with AdobePS 4.1, but doesn't work with XP.

There is any way for install the printer in XP??? There is any way for install a ppd level 1 in XP???

Thanks.

Most high end DTP and Graffix apps such as PageMaker, Indesign, CorelDraw, Illustrator, Freehand, etc. require you to have a postscript level 2 printer regardless of the operating sys. So even if you do install a postscript level 1 printer in XP, you'll still have probs with your DTP and Graffix apps.

Get hold of at least second user HP LaserJet 4M+ for example. These are real cheap now and are postscript level 2...

For the record, you are dealing with a printer model that is at least ten years old. (8^)>
