I would like to configure Acrobat to download pdf files when clicking on web links instead of opening them. I know I can right click and then "save as" but in many cases the link does not specify that it is a pdf file and once licked I have to wait while acrobat loads a million drivers and starts itself up before I get to a page that I was only mildly curious in anyway! Other times I want to save the file anyway.

I have found no way to save a pdf from a link in an email - right clicking does not work so I have to open the document and save a copy, which is tedious and time consuming.

Acrobat 5 could be set up to automatically download links - much like clicking on an .exe file, I had the option to open the file or save it to disk. In acrobat 6 I appear to only have the options to open acrobat in the web browser or as a separate application.

Can I configure Acrobat to download by default?

Phil
