I, too, wish to read .pdf files that I receive as attachments in emails on my Treo 600. There are two mail programs that facilitate this. One is EmailViewer from www.reqwireless.com. The other is Aileron from www.corsoft.com. Both have some issues:
1) EmailViewer 3.0 installs easily (even though you first have to install a java runtime, which reqwireless explains). It allows you to view .pdf attachments which are formatted for display on its server (I don't think the file itself ever reaches the handheld). It has a rather powerful feature set, but I do not care for its user interface. 2) Aileron is an email program closer in user interface to SnapperMail, but it uses a server to fetch and reformat attachments before download to the handheld. Corsoft's website says that Aileron supports .pdf attachments to be viewed by Adobe's Reader for Palm application on the handheld. However, in testing today I discovered that they have a bug with this that they are working on it. Their customer support (via on-line chat) said that they expect a fix next week (today is 8/17/04). Ideally, of course, a native .pdf filereader will appear for the Palm (I thought platform independence was the whole idea behind .pdf in the first place!).
