Yeah I've been moaning about acrobat since version 6. Version 7.0.5 was the point at which I said "I hate this product and its flaws." Anyone remember version 5? It was the pinnacle of what a PDF reader was supposed to be. PDF's never should have been migrated to a document archival product, and certainly now that Adobe wants it as document flows throughout a corporation? silly. Yes it's WYSIWYG, but all too often people are trying to get pdf's into another format, and it never works with any level of reliability. I agree with the reboots: it should never, ever, ever happen, ESPECIALLY for a FILE VIEWER! I imagine it wants to reboot because of the startup items, in all actuality reader works fine without rebooting. (professional 7 will bug you though to reboot.) All in all if I could live in a world without Adobe Reader I certainly would opt for it. To top it all off Adobe wanted people to migrate to version 8 for security reasons immediately after 8 was released. They only caved when it was evident corporate cstomers simply can't move to 8 that quickly, and that there are far more serious issues with their readers. I seriously doubt version 8 will be a secure product. Nothing I've seen from adobe in the past year has proven to me that they take security seriously.
