Hi David I do have the default program for pdf files set to Adobe Reader 9 on Windows Vista Home Premium. The process the computer goes through when trying to open a pdf file using Internet Explorer 7 is initially to try to open it using Foxit Reader with windows security allowing me to block this then automatically opening it using Adobe Reader 9. Thanks for any advice. Goggs
