What should I do in response to this "Critical Security Alert"

On booting up today I've been presented with a dialog box headed
"Install Now" reading "Select the updates you want to install:"
followed by a list containing only an item reading "Critical Security
Alert - Software Removal Tool". At the bottom of the dialog box are
three buttons: "Remove Selected" "Remind Me Later" and "Install Now".

Behind the "Install Now" is another dialog headed "Adobe Update
Manager".

Can anyone please advise which of the buttons I should click? Should I
"Remove" or "Install" the item? What are the implications of doing one
rather than the other? Or should I click the close button on the
dialog? What is going on? Is Adobe responsible for this perplexing set
of choices?
