I have Windows XP Prof vs 2002 Service pack 2, 800Mhz Intel Celeron, 316Mb RAM, Compaq Presario laptop Model 1200US and Adobe opens up in browser Firefox 2001 tabs. Drive C has 6.63Gb total size with 1.67Gb free space. Drive D has 2.72Gb total size and 634Mb free space. I just installed vs.8 Adobe Rdr thinking it was better than 7, but I was disappointed when Norton Systemworks printed out the above ActiveX report in its Program Integrity Scan and also had 2 missing files. I read another post about these 2 missing files and the forum answer by Ben Coplan was that Norton made an error and the files do exist. That may be true, but I know that in the past Norton has always served me right. I don't know much about software, but could it be possible that the "missing" files are there but don't appear where they're supposed to appear in the software? Maybe an error in a "goto" statement. On many occasions when I've had problems after downloading bad software, Norton found errors, and I had to eventually uninstall the software and my problems all disappeared. Maxthon was my latest case in point. Norton showed several invalid ActiveX entries and my CPU was running at 100% with bluescreens and the whole works. I uninstalled Maxthon and goodby bluescreens and the CPU now runs at idle.
