I recently updated Adobe Reader (I assume version 8) on my Vaio laptop. Now each time I turn on the computer the Adobe Reader Update Manager window pops up asking if I want to "replace" a file or put this file in a new destination. I have clicked on both to try and get rid of this window, to no avail. Then when I click off this window, a different Adobe Manager window pops up, which I must click off. There is also an Adobe Reader alias on my desktop which I cannot get rid of either. I put it in the recycle bin, empty the bin and the icon disappears but returns to the desktop moments later. How can I stop these windows and get this alias off my desktop? Thanks.
