Hi, I installed Adobe Reader 8 on Windows XP Home and changed in the "Page Display" preferences the "Page Layout" setting from "Automatic" to "Single Page Continous" and the "Zoom" setting from "Automatic" to "Fit Width". The Adobe Help viewer says in the index section for Page Layout: "Sets the page layout used for scrolling when you first open a document" and for Zoom: "Sets the magnification level for PDF documents when they are first opened. This value overrides document settings." But neither of both settings override the document settings. And what does the help mean with "PDF documents when they are first opened"? The only sense of preferences can be to provide preferences for all documents for all open actions, not only for the first. But even for the first open action these preferences do not work. Regards, Uwe Galle
