In fact Adobe has recently released the source code of Flash player, which is more popular than Adobe Reader, both Flash player and Adobe Reader are distributed for free, and the more people they reach the more the formats get popular the more people will want to buy the non free products adobe develop like Flash IDE or other Acrobat products used to write PDF files. The only two things that might make Adobe worried are development of new players from their soure code that are not compatible with their formats standards, and the unability of getting accurate statistical results of how many people are using their Player/Reader.
Adobe Reader LE is distributed for handhelds manufacturers with complete source code in C++, documentation, exmples and other stuff as SDK, I couldn't find any pricing or any othr information, questions I have are, if the SDK is not for free, is Adobe charging manufacturers on per unit bases or as a package?
I hope that am not missing anything important, if so I would appreciate corrections.
