I've searched the forums, FAQ's and the net but haven't been able to find anyone with a similar problem. About a quarter of the documents that I open are nearly illegible. The characters all look like they are German umlats or in a spam prevention box for a web site registration. There are so many extraneous dots around the characters that one has to work hard to discern the text. I'm using version 7 of Reader on XP Pro SP2 with all of the current updates, save for the international character set. When this first started happening while using version 4 or 5, I was able to change a font option of some sort to fix the problem. However, I can't find any font options in version 7 and changes to other options haven't resolved the problem. I open 20-30 documents every day so the problem affects me on a daily basis. I would appreciate any suggestions that will help me resolve this very annoying problem Regards, George
