Making 6.0.5 Default Reader

I have just downloaded and installed 6.0.5 reader, however when I try to read an online pdf the reader does not open. I'm using WinME with IE6. I know just enough about computers to get me into trouble, and some times to get me out of it. If any one can offer some help, Please keep it simple. I've tried the forum but, couldn't find what I needed.
