Still have error copying text to clipboard

I've just upgraded from Reader 7.0.8 to 8.0.0 and still get the
following error when trying to copy selected text.

"There was an error while copying to the clipboard. An internal error
occurred."

My OS is XP SP2. I've tried installing twice. The second time I
uninstalled and rebooted first to make things as clean as possible.

Copying an image, saving the whole document as text, and snapshot all
work.

A few other people have reported this problem but there are no
solutions that I've found. Some things that I've checked are:

Non-standard PDF - the problem is still there with PDFs from
adobe.com.

System memory - my RAM is 2 GB and I'm currently using about 600 MB.

Security - content copying is allowed.

Any ideas?
