Kathrine, to solve another problem with Reader 8, I have --
  uninstalled Reader 8
  rebooted
  installed Reader 7
  rebooted
  uninstalled Reader 7
  rebooted
  installed Reader 8
  rebooted

I did all this because I had not uninstalled Reader 7 before making my first installation of Reader 8 -- but have since learned that uninstalling Reader 7 before installing Reader 8 is wise.

However, the new installation of Reader 8 is no better in navigating responsively through large image files than was my first installation. Reader 8 scrolls so-o-o-o slowly that I can't imagine any user being satisfied to use it with large image files -- which is a VERY big problem for me!

I mention this because sometimes it's also helpful to know what <doesn't> solve a problem.

I hope Adobe responds with a patch or a hack that allows Reader 8 to be at least as responsive in this context as Reader 7 was.
