I have a 20 inch iMac Core Duo, the original intel-based iMac, running OS 10.4.8 with all updates. Just installed Adobe Reader 8.0 today -- it crashes within 15 seconds of launch, just sitting idle with no other apps open.

I have deleted all Adobe prefs and caches from my home folder, no change.

I have repaired permissions, no change.

I have restarted and powered off/on several times, no change.

I have disabled Magic Menu from Stuffit Deluxe v9.0.2, no change.

I have uninstalled Parallels Desktop software, no change.

My account has local admin rights.

Adobe Creative Suite 2 is also installed on this Mac (runs in Rosetta).
