I found a message on my computer which appeared to come from Adobe. It regarded a software uninstaller which had already been filed in the folder: Documents and Settings/Application Data/Adobe/Acrobat/7.0/Updater The file was called something like uninstaller.exe. As it found its way deep into my Adobe file structure, I decided it was OK. I clicked on it, and in a couple of moments, the reader launched and the uninstaller exe file disappeared. There seems to be no problem, but I am concerned that there may be. Is this a legitimate file from Adobe. There is a knowledge base answer concerning uninstalling an early version of downloader, but it isn't clear that this is the same subject or that the file is legitimate.
