OK, now I'm getting two pop-up messages:

1. Every time I boot up (which I had been receiving before all of this, which is what originally alerted me to this problem) which reads: "Installation Failed (3) The Desktop Reader was unable to configure itself. Please try again." And there's an "OK" button, which, when I click on it, causes the message to not appear again until I boot up the following day;

2. Another one which reads: "Installation Failed - uninst.exe not present and unable to detect AdobeDownloadManager.exe. Error: 3" Then there are four radio buttons: "Continue installing; Stop installing and continue later; Cancel current update and continue installing the remaining updates; Stop installing and cancel all remaining updates."

And of course, in all likelihood, I'm getting this latest pop-up because I uninstalled the download manager myself and didn't use the tool on the Adobe page.

Any suggestions?
