Hi and Thankyou ALL:
I ran the Microsoft Cleanup tool, tried a reinstall and got the same result.
So I did an uninstall, ran the cleanup, and then went into regedit and deleted anything that referred to acrobat. I then let it lie as Foxitreader was working just fine.

So today I saw the message from scooter and thought I would give version 8 a try with scooter's fix. I downloaded acrobat 8 and installed it and worked without any changes. Gop Figure.
