Firefox uses the engine created by the Mozilla group such as was used in Netscape. <http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/about/>

Yes, on Windows XP, Firefox works just fine. However, on an Intel Macintosh, it does not work at all. When I click a PDF link, or drag a PDF to an open browser window, I get a window asking me what to do and offers only one application (Acrobat Pro 6) to open it, or download it to disk.

When I go into my option settings in Windows, a PDF is assigned to open using an Acrobat plugin. On Intel Macintosh, the plugin option is grayed out.
