Acrobat Reader 8 File Association Issue

#11253

I have installed Acrobat Reader 8 without any errors. This is on a Dell GX240 with 256mb ram, running Windows XP SP2 with current updates.

I can open the program the open any file from within the software package without error. But when I try to click on a pdf file icon itself, this message is displayed: "*.pdf file is not a valid win32 application". The file associations are correct.
