Can't open pdf files

I downloaded AR 7.0.8. When I try to open a pdf file, I get a screen that says "FEAD 2.5 Optimizer for Acrobat Reader 7.0.8. Please wait while the Acrobat Reader 7.0.8 setup is being processed." When this is complete, I get another screen that is titled "Install Shield" with several rows under a line called "Command Line Peramers" such as "/L language ID" At the bottom of this screen is an ok button, push on that and nothing happens.

I removed 7.0.8 using the add/remove program and the find file command and downloaded AR 8.0. The same thing happens trying to optimize to 7.0.8.

I can open files from within the AR but can't open a pdf by just clicking on it??

Any suggestions?
