I have the same issue. I have an old eBook (.pdf file) which was purchased and installed on a machine I no longer have. Reader 7.0.8 tells me it won't open the file because I have not established ownership. The DRM authorization website tells me I need to activate Reader on the original computer using the same .NET account!!! Obviously, I can't do this. If I select the "Authorise Devices" option under the "Digital Editions" option of the File menu, I get taken back to an activation website which re-opens Reader and gives me the following error message:

"Your Adobe software could not be activated. User's signature is invalid. Please reactivate. Adobe DRM Activator Error (server code 9). Fault location:7 Contact customer support."

So. I contacted customer support. 5 phone calls later, I was advised to submit a web case...

Anybody out there got anything more helpful to offer?

Thanks

Phil Gallagher
