opening pdf in IE6 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I work with win98 se, IE6 browser. Lately the IE refuses to open directly pdf files, and I receive first a "file download" menu with warnings etc. According to IE Help I should uncheck the "always ask" checkbox, but on the menu the checkbox is gray and cannot be unchecked. Help says that this happens when opening files such as .exe or .com, but it doesn't say anything about .pdf. and till now I had no problems with viewing pdf. I set all my security settings on default. The pdf files, which I try to open, are quite secure as they come from my own site or from HP manuals site. I tried to open the pdf files from Firefox and there is no such problem, they open directly. Therefore some of the IE settings are faulty. Repairing the IE from Control Panel didn't help either. Please advise how to configure the IE6 security in order to open pdf files on the browser without the annoying menu first. Thanks
