I'm am writing to express my incredible frustration with Adobe, its DRM, and its so-called "Customer Service."

I have an eBook purchased from Amazon a couple of years ago. Since then have changed computers, upgraded Adobe Reader. Went to read the book today, to no avail: "no matching activation records found, server code 30, fault location 22" in a dialog box, along with advice to "Contact customer support." I installed new versions of software, plugged in directly to my cable modem (to avoid potential firewall issues), all to no avail.

I called the number listed at the top of this forum was connected with the lovely Amber, who after 20 minutes of consultation with her supervisor, pronounced the following words: "My manager says that you're SOL."

I'm obviously more than a little annoyed by the DRM lockdown, and frankly dismayed that customer service at Adobe has come to this. Has anyone else experienced similar problems and received absolutely no help from Adobe? Does anyone have any suggestions on my next move?

Dumbfounded,

Richard
