Printing a document with unknown format

It's not possible for me to print a document in a readable format if
it's not a standard.
When scaling to 'fit to printer margins' the characters are too small.
Without scaling the document seems to be readable but a part of text is
missing from the paper.
Is it possible to split a page without scaling and printing it out?
