some new experiences
the printout of the small sample file (see the posted links) opened with Acrobat Reader 7.0.8 on a (Gentoo) Linux system and a HP Laserjet 4L was ok
on my usual system I got Acrobat Reader 7.0.8 the printout on the RICOH Aficio AP400N RPCS (RPCS driver, version 3.80) was again bad
the next test was to use a PCL6 driver. with this configuration the result was ok

I still hope that it will be possible to find the reason for the bad printing. I am not totally satisfied. I will point out again what remains open for my feeling.
My point is not to find way how to get good printings. I knew already that e.g. to print with my Acrobat Standard was a way. But I want to be sure that every customer who loaded down some files from us gets a good quality of the printout on his system
Until now I believed that the printing of a postscript or a pdf file looks always the same on every combination of printers and drivers. If my case is a rare exception I can live with this. But who knows???
