Am having similar problem. Have 7.0.7 Reader loaded and does not open PDF files through IE webbrowser. When try to uninstall 7.0.7, I receive "Installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it" error message. Since I loaded 7.0.7 directly from Adobe website, I do not have access to source. I am unable to load 7.0.8 until .07 is uninstalled.
