Bug: Printing PDF in browser crashes print spooler

We are having problems with the print spooler crashing (tested on Windows 2000 SP4 as well as XP SP2) when printing a PDF to a virtual printer (trying to Fax using Blackice-based driver). We have a specific (EMR) application that uses a very long URLs to store all of the linked PDF's and any time we print these files embedded in the browser (how the application launches them), it crashes the print spooler.

This is a sample of the URL path:
S:\ppart\Files\LEVA001\LEVB001\LEVC001\LEVD001\LEVE001\LEVF001\LEVG001\LEVH001\LEVI001\LEVJ001\LEVK001\LEVL001\LEVM001\LEVN001\LEVO001\LEVP001\LEVQ001\LEVR001\LEVS001\LEVT019\24963970010.PDF

Printing any PDF located at this path crashes the spooler. The older versions of the plugin didn't used to crash (reader v5.05 was the last version that didn't crash the spooler). v7.08 does still crash it even though a bug similar to this was supposed to be fixed in v6.0.1 according to this link:
 <http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/329146.html>

Our users are trying to fax these records from our document archive and it is killing the entire print spooler on the computer (not good - shared terminal server). . .

Unfortunately, we can not change the location of these documents since it is dictated by the EMR software. Also, our users can not directly open the PDF files because the only way they have access to them is via the links provided in the EMR.

Please, I hope this can be acknowledged and fixed.

Thanks.
