Thanks for the reply, Aandi.

However, as much as I would love to set up a secure web server and just submit the data directly to db, it is not an option. We need the full form to be emailed, due to the client's strict instructions.

The strange thing is that you CAN email the full form from Acrobat Reader 7, it just says that you can't. It just has to be rights-enabled in Acrobat 8 first, even the trial will make this work. When I add a submit button to the form, and set its action to Submit Form, the options for that action allow you to send the entire pdf file to whatever url or email address you want. It tells the user that only the data is being sent, but I receive the full form in my inbox every time I send it. So this is not really an issue (at least, until the trial runs out), except for the dialog boxes that I am trying to eliminate.

I noticed that you can code your own custom Javascript on the button, but you can't send an email with Javascript. So that would still require a web server for the 'send email' script and smtp server to reside on, which is not an option at this time.

Also, pertaining to upgrading from 5.5....you can't, at least not to 8. The upgrade only applies as far back as version 6, according to Adobe Sales.

If you have any other insights Aandi, I'd love to hear them :)
(that goes for anyone else, as well)

Thanks,
Christoff
