Acrobat Reader Chinese Characters Printing Problem - pls help!

I am an acrobat user from Singapore. Everytime I print any pdf files that have been converted from Microsoft Powerpoint or any other bulleted or punctuated document, the bullets or punctuations combine with adjacent alphabets and form Chinese characters. The document looks normal on screenshow but the print preview shows the Chinese characters. I tried changing settings in the preferences but nothing seems to work. The document is fine when printed using other computers with the same printer. Please Help! This is especially annoying when printing out lecture notes and the like

My operating system is totally English (US) and all interfaces operate in English (US)
