I've got a brand new computer, only a week old, that I thought was "broken" because of this problem. Now I'm just annoyed that Adobe obviously knows about this problem for quite a long time, but hasn't fixed it. So, what exactly does disabling PDF in the browser do? If I click on a link to a PDF file on a website, what happens with it enabled and what happens with it disabled? For now, I guess I'll do the opening and closing of a pdf file every night before I shutdown.....and tell the kids to just leave the computer running....Sheesh!
