Links to individual page within multipage pdf not working

  I have several links on my web site that are linked to specific pages with
  various *.pdf files and have been encountering word back that the links
  are no longer going to the specified pages.

  I have tested the links in IE v6 & 7 and Avant ( an IE hybrid ) v11, build
  21 using Readers v5, 6 and the most recent, 7.0.8, with only Reader v5 returning
  consistent hits on the specific page links in any of the browsers.

  I save the *.pdf files, they are in v5 or earlier with no successful affect.

  I appreciate and could definitely use some assistance / enlightenment on
  this matter.
