Ulli, I've had that problem, too. You mentioned: "(PDFs can be printed after saving, printer is therefore o.k.)" I think that's the key. Save the documents first (taking care to note the filename and where you put it!), then print. Sure, it's a bother, but it works. I've had to do that regardless of Adobe Reader version.
