Why is performance slow and jerky when scrolling through images?

Hello,

Scrolling always works very smooth when going over text and small images but for some reason when I scroll past larger images it is very slow and jerky (even after the file has completely loaded). I am referring to PDF documents on my hard drive (not online). BTW I have 1GB of RAM and it does this even when no other programs are running.

Is there a setting in the preferences or somewhere else that fixes this? Thanks!

Brandon
