Joan, I am having nearly the same problem. 7.0 came with my new Dell XPS Buried in IE. It also will not open .PDF files and when I tried to uninstall it under Add/Remove programs, it will not uninstall because it cannot find the original installation software? I have tried installing from the net, but cannot because it says 7.0 is already installed. A very temp fix was made because I had an old disc with Adobe 5.0 reader and could load that. I hope we can find some answer soon!
