Well I admit, after thinking about it, that perhaps I am reading too much into a very small situation. But here is what I ran into. I used to point my browser at a PDF file, it would download, and then open automatically in PREVIEW, Apple's viewer. Then, I installed an upgrade to Adobe Reader V7. Suddenly, all of the PDF's that I point Safari were opening up in Adobe's Reader program. Forcing me to use READER instead of PREVIEW. I prefer to use PREVIEW.

When I contacted Adobe to uninstall READER, to stop this annoying activity, they demanded that I pay $39 for customer support. That was a very rude demand. I did not pay. And I decided at that point that I would never, ever purchase an Adobe product again.

Apparently, I was not the only one having this issue. On the next OS upgrade, Apple made it so that when you click on a PDF, it opens now in their browser, SAFARI. Well, this browser does not have the functionality of PREVIEW or READER. So now I am forced to download all PDF's, by right clicking or some menu activity, and then manually opening them up in PREVIEW. This is a huge waste of time, I read a great number of PDF's online. So I guess I am making a stink here so that both companies can work it out and give users the option to choose between PREVIEW for READER to open PDF's when a browser clicks on them.

This is such a common activity with users at every level that the actions taken by both companies hardly seem accidental. So I am pleading to both companies to work together more closely. Does that make sense?
