After creating a PDF document in Acrobat Pro 7, creating a Blank Signature Field" on the document, and then saving it, I open the document with Acrobat Reader 7 and try to sign the document by clicking on the field as instructed, but nothing happens except for the field itself turning a pretty shade of blue. Fascinating, yes, but hardly what I was hoping for.

The bar at the top says "You cannot save data typed into this form" even though I made ALL the document restrictions "Allowed" before saving. I also selected compatibility with Acrobat 7 or later just for the fun of it.

What the heck am I doing wrong?

Am I supposed to be able to create a document in Acrobat Pro 7 and then have someone using Acrobat Reader 7 be able to sign the document and send it back to me?
