I am having a problem with Adobe Reader 7. When a user opens a PDF file with Internet Explorer, you can clearly see the AcroRd32.exe running in Windows Task Manager; but it doesnt end itself when you close the Internet Explorer unless you start the Adobe Reader program and then close it. So when the user tries to log off or Shutdown/Restart the Windows, a window pops up End Program Adobe Acrobat, the system will not continue to log off or shutdown until you click on End Now to end the program; the same time there will be a DWWIN.exe DLL initialization failed error. This has cause a major problem in my computer labs. I have an auto-logoff screensaver running for all computers so that the system will log off the users automatically after certain idle time. Its been working fine until I upgraded the Adobe Reader to 7. Because users usually click the Log Off button and then just leave without waiting for computer logs off completely, my auto-logoff screensaver will just hang there with a DLL initialization error; only thing I could do is to power it off if that happens. I see similar complains in APPDeploy.com <http://appdeploy.com/packages/detail.asp?id=211> but it doesnt seem they have a real solution there. Id really appreciate any help from any body. Thank you in advanced. Ming Z. Brown University
