default PDF reader

I have installed a program called "Foxit" (a mistake). Foxit is now the default reader to open PDF files. I'd like to return to the Adobe reader but don't know how to. "Foxit" does not appear in the add-remove list or in the list of programs. Foxit help recommends going to the previous reader to reestablish it as the default reader but I can't find any place to do this. Any helpful suggestion is appreciated.
