We are publishing data on CD-ROM with together with Adobe Catalog Index files. This works fine by double clicking the PDX file on the CD or selecting it under advanced search.

However in setting a bookmark link to open the PDX file more directly we have varied results.

The link doesn't work on most computers we have tried with Acrobat Reader 7 (versions 7.00 7.05 and 7.08).
The message given is "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options control panel." However in all cases the file the association is set correctly for PDX type!

It always works on any system in our office with
 - Adobe Reader 6
 - Adobe Professional 6
 - Adobe Professional 7
 - Adobe Reader 7.00 on the same computer as Adobe Professional 6

The problem applies whether created from Adobe Professional 6 or 7

Can anypne throw any light on this - which appears to be a problem with version 7 Reader?
