Opening PDF email attachments

When I downloaded the Reader 7.0.8 upgrade, I found that I could no longer open PDF email attachments. Instead, I have to right-click on the attachment filename, choose "save as," and save the PDF file somewhere, such as "My Documents." Then I have to go the saved file, right-click on it, & choose "Open using Ardobe Reader 7.0.8." Then the file opens. (When I right click on the filename of the email attachment, the "Open using Adobe Reader 7.0.8" option doesn't come up. Is this roundabout procedure really necessary?
