Thanx, Adrian, and good luck with the custard. I don't doubt your issue is also valid, and I lack an answer for it (I can't test v. 7+ on a Win98SE platform).

If you haven't received the post (I tried to find out how to make direct contact but missed the method, if one exists), if the Show All Messages link doesn't work for you or doesn't exist in all universes (I see it to the right of First/Previous/Next/Last), and if you don't mind posting an email address or other method (or put an underscore into the space in my name and use that with Yahoo.com), I can copy and send the post.

I'd find the search problem (at least mine, re scanning and spacing) a lot less annoying if Reader help had just admitted that such a thing was possible. Not saying so leads to higher expectations by a lot of users. Adobe editorial planners: Hint, hint.

The problem you identified is boggling. If Adobe wanted to pare search results to the most useful (I'm only guessing that that's it), it's hard to imagine what algorithm could consistently work. Using Google's I'm-Feeling-Lucky button isn't mandatory.
