Well, I think I solved my problem. I uninstalled my current reader and then went to Adobe and loaded a new reader. I am still troubled by the error mess dealing with "PaperMetaData.api" but I did a Google search on that and found that Adobe provided and solution for that problem Or rather several solutions. My first solution did not work so later I will try the second one. But the reader has improved to the point that I can now download a PDF file from the internet (after an error msg which then apparently takes care of itself.) Wow, the Reader is sure a useful tool! Thanks, all.
