I've just upgraded from Reader V5 to V7.0.8, and I've found that in some documents, V7 is returning zero hits when searching for certain words. This is despite the fact that every other version I've tried (Reader V4 and V5, and full Acrobat 6.0, plus Cute PDF) will happily find multiple hits for the same words.

It's definitely not the 'scanned text' or 'spaces between letters' issues that are described in other threads - otherwise no PDF readers would be able to find the same text.

The documents in question are huge (3000+ pages - hence searching is essential), and are made by concatenating multiple .pdf files together using a script. I suspect it may be the size, or the concatenation process, that's introducing something which causes Reader 7 to kick up a fuss.

The only work-around I have at the moment, is to advise the customers using the documents to revert to an earlier version of Reader, which is not ideal. Any suggestions of how I can either 'fix' Reader 7, or modify the document to solve this would be much appreciated.
