I finally found the time to perform some tests, and the situation seems to be as follows: Using just the free Reader, one can email an FDF file from a filled in PDF form, provided an appropriate Submit button has been added with a mailto:name@domain.xxx action. This is what Mark has said, but there seems to be a restriction. According to my tests, this seems to work only for Reader 6 upwards. As there are numerous and quite frequent posts in these forums repeating that, with just the free Reader, you can only print or submit filled in PDF forms, implying or saying directly that you can email nothing, I think this needs clarification. I think too many people have been wrongly led to believe that, with just the free Reader, your only option is to print the form, fill it in by hand, and fax (or scan and email) it back.
