Been having memory issues on an older laptop running Windows 2000, fully patched. Starting tracking down the culprits and stumbled on a couple of interesting things with reader.

First, If you just open Reader with no document, it will instantly consume over 50 MB and continue to grow until you minimize it. The memory consumption instantly drops to around 3MB and then remains under 6MB when restored.

Second, after viewing and closing a PDF within Internet Explorer, the Reader remains in memory until IE is closed and sometimes it remains until the machine is rebooted.

I have been a fan of Reader for many years, but this is causing some serious grief.
