In another forum, a Certified Adobe Specialist is claimimg that someone using just the free Reader can email filled in data in a PDF form -not in a website- to a specified address, in html FDF or XFDF format (as chosen by the author of the form), provided an appropriate Submit button has been added with a mailto:namedomain.xxx action.

I have performed a quick search in this forum, and have looked at techdoc 328647, and have seen nothing that supports this claim. I also tried this person's test form, and got an error message. And I can email the FDF file using Acrobat.

I am using older versions of Acrobat and Reader, and I am on a Mac, so I have no access to Designer. The subject has no direct interest for me, and so I am not willing to devote much time to it. However, if this person is wrong and I am right ("you cannot email filled in data directly from a PDF form using just the free Reader"), I would like to correct this wrong information. Otherwise, I would like to know what's wrong in what I believe.
