Hello Dave,

I don't have an answer for you. I just wanted to say I have the same problem.

WinXP Control Panel/Add (or) Remove programs refuses to uninstall reader 7.0.8. I get the Windows Installer window which doesn't do anything for a while and then this message pane pops up;

"The patch package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or consult theapplication vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package."

Now if only I knew which "patch package" it was referring to I might be able to locate it. If you get anywhere pleae let me know by email

Most application programs will let you re-install over the top of an older version or even the same version which is already installed, but not Adobe Reader 7. When trying to re-install all you get is a message saying that the current version is already on the computer and the install program will not allow any further action. Now how backward is this? We are stuck with the situation of neither being able to un-install or re-install. A Bug or what??

Rgds,
