I am having trouble associating PDF files with Reader 7 since I upgraded from Acrobat 6. When I click on a PDF in explorer, nothing happens. (I used to get an error message until I UNinstalled Acro 6.) I have to right-click on the file and choose Reader 7 from the drop down list or open the program and then load the file.
I installed Reader 7.0.8 over Acrobat 6 ussuming it would eliminate the old file assoc. It didn't. I then uninstalled Acro 6 from Windows "Add/Remove Software". I searched for reference to Acro 6 in the registry using regedit and found none. I have re-assoc'd PDF to Reader 7 in the windows explorer "Open With... Always use this program to open this file type" many times, but the assoc to Acro 6 persists. It is still listed in that drop-down list as the default program. I do not know how to remove Acro 6 from the explorer right-click drop-down list a/o correect the file assoc.
Any suggestions?
